Saturday

Avoiding the sad tale of woe from Cardiff, as the fiendish English cricket team put our tourists to the sword, we head to the Brooklyn Markets in search of brunch and antlers. We've been there before, and the range of bric-a-brac and food is pretty much the same.

Tip for visitors - the food stalls are a bit slow to start, so by 11:00am most aren't set up. The vintage clothing is a bit pricey, and the junk is pretty junky, We stroll around for a while then head back to Manhattan.

Lynda hits the Times Square ticket touts for cheap theatre tickets and comes back with tickets for today and tomorrow.

Our matinee is a new American play Hand To God - a disturbing, funny, horrific and satisfying play in the Jacobean Booth Theatre. Very entertaining, with some scary violence.

On the way home we stop at a tapas joint El Cid for some tapas and a delightful dessert they call "Sabaglione" which turns out to be a zabiglione-style cream with lots of sliced strawberries,

In the evening we hiked down to Houston Street to see the movie Amy at the Landmark Sunshine cinema. Excellent documentary on the rise and fall of jazz singer Amy Winehouse, and the critters around her.

Closing the evening with a Kanonkop Kadette by way of toast.
